Where: The Commons Theater.
What: Party, Concert, Housewarming, Benefit.
Cost: Donation with proceeds to benefit our latest fundraising initiative.
Spring is upon us and this old house is starting to warm up again. To help us celebrate and enjoy, we hope to see you all at our housewarming party:
In the gallery, under the new lights, you can see a preview of our upcoming exhibit by Driftless area photography alchemist Erin Fonseca!
Across the freshly walnut oiled floor (thank you Thoreau College!) there’ll also be food and drinks flowing.
In the theater you’ll see some of our brilliant and rare 126 year old stained glass, which will be uncovered for the first time in many years.
In the theater we also have some sweet sweet music, by the likes of:
South Street Band – Viroqua rebel wisdom bearing deep grooves. Moondog gives Sun Ra a root canal on a paddle steamer going down the Mississippi.
Van Orman & Helwin – folk duo extraordinaire, featuring an arsenal of exotic instruments and an international songbook, from Dodgeville. https://www.johnvanorman.com/van-orman-helwin/
Barry & Sherri – Rollicking songbird medicine show from Genoa
The Commons would like to send out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us get over the 50% mark with this renovation campaign! So far, we have been able to remove the old ceiling, upgrade our lighting and repurpose the derelict heat duct. We still have a ways to go, please consider sharing far and wide: https://givebutter.com/renovatethecommonsphaseone
