A rag-tag tag-team effort to read all 39 plays, 2 epic poems, and 154 sonnets by Shakespeare, back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back… during the day, night, dusk, and dawn. Whether it’s one line, one role, one play, or ten, we will need all the help we can get from our local Shakespeare enthusiasts, students of all ages, people on their lunch break, vagabonds willing to read plays in exchange for a warm place to hang out for a couple of hours, and kind souls the world over!

A one week, 24-hour-a-day reading of Shakespeare’s 39 plays. We will begin at 4pm on Sunday 1/7 and begin another play every four hours (8 am, 12 pm, 4pm, 8pm, 12 am, 4 am, etc).

From January 7th to January 10th, the in-person location for the readings will be The Commons Art & Community Center at 400 East Jefferson Street in Viroqua.

Beginning Wednesday, January 10th, readings will take place at The Pump House Regional Arts Center at 119 King Street in La Crosse, with the Pump House taking over hosting through the Bard-a-thon’s culmination at 8pm on Saturday, January 13th, with a reading of Macbeth.
