As we celebrate 10 years of operation, The Board of Directors of Artists and Friends, Inc. is looking for new members to bring more creativity and strength to our organization! We are the non-profit that operates The Commons Community and Arts Center. Our all volunteer Board of Directors is a working managing collaborative board.
In the spirit of “many hands make light work” we are looking to expand our Board from 6 members to ideally 12 or more. We invite you to nominate individuals (including applying yourself!) who you think would be an asset to our community and arts center.
A working managing collaborative board means that in addition to attending board meetings (on average 1.5 hrs every other week), we expect board members to be involved in subcommittees and volunteer to do tasks necessary for The Commons operations. There is no specific time commitment required but a willingness to help out when you can is. We only ask that you do what you can.
This is a rewarding volunteer position working with a great group of people. We are seeking individuals who can make a two-year commitment to the Board, and ideally who have connections or experience in at least one of these areas: arts programming, community services and development, grant writing, promotion, building maintenance and restoration, finance, and/or organizational development.
We look forward to receiving your nominations and/or application, and growing our arts & community center together. As always, your support of The Commons is greatly appreciated! You can print/download our Board Application which includes an explanation of our process for considering a board applicant.
Please inquire, nominate, apply by email to email@example.com or call 608-286-2495.
